MANSEHRA, Jan 27: Five more children died of pneumonia in the District Headquarters Hospital during the past three days as Mansehra, Battagram and other districts remained in the grip of severe cold.

Sources said that more than 30 people died of cold related diseases, particularly pneumonia, in the Mansehra DHQ hospital during the past one month. Data collected from different hospitals in Mansehra, Battagram, Balakot, Allai and Oghi revealed that hundreds of patients had been brought there with symptoms of pneumonia.

According to the Met office, the recent cold wave in the earthquake affected areas would continue for three more days, adding that it was the lowest temperature during the last 30 years in Mansehra.
