Pakistan CC reach final

KARACHI, Jan 25: Daniyal Ahsan and Naeem Ahmed Khan’s aggressive batting powered Pakistan Cricket Club into the KCCA Inter-Club League Championship final as they outgunned Rafiq Sherazi Memorial Cricket Club by 91 runs at the KCCA Stadium on Thursday.

Daniyal banged seven boundaries and two sixes in his unbeaten 128 off 122 balls and wicket-keeper/batsman Naeem clubbed seven fours and three sixes in his 80, as Pakistan CC, batting first, amassed 278-7 off the allotted 50 overs. Daniyal and Naeem added 178 runs for the third wicket after their team were restricted to 25-2.

Leg-spinner Wasim Naeem picked up five wickets for 73 off his ten overs.

Rafiq Sherazi Memorial CC, in reply, were dismissed for 187 in 47.3 overs despite a defiant knock of 78 by Zahid Ali. Off-spinner Tabish Nawab grabbed four wickets for 58, left-arm spinner Noman Alvi three for 33 while pacer Anwar Ali two for 42.
