LARKANA, Jan 23: A delegation of writers and intellectuals expressed condolences with Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, in Naudero on Wednesday over the tragic death of Ms Benazir Bhutto.

The delegation led by Adal Soomro, Sarkash Sindhi, Ayaz Gul and Taj Joyo later visited Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto, laid floral wreath on Shaheed Bhutto’s grave and offered fateha.

They described Benazir Bhutto’s death as a great loss to the country and the struggle for the restoration of genuine democracy.

Meanwhile, security in and around Naudero House has been beefed up as people from different walks of life continue to offer condolences to Mr Zardari.

POLICE: The district police officer of Larkana on Wednesday suspended SHOs’ of Bakrani and Rahmatpur police stations, Gulshan Mahar and Amanullah Soomro, on charges of negligence. They were replaced by Jabir Lahori and Maqsood Ahmed Aghani.

ROBBERY: Four armed bandits snatched a car from a cardiologist, Dr Saeed Sangi, outside his house in Sachal Colony on Wednesday.
