KARACHI, Jan 23: Five ships carrying containers and rock phosphate are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where seven ships, Hansa Century, Harmony, APL Amman, Soon Fu and Oel Spirit to unload and load containers, African Pal and Free Destiny to unload and load general cargo were berthed on Wednesday.

Four ships, Sinar Bintan, Bunga Terasek, Jitra Bhum and Splendour, departed on Wednesday, while APL Amman, Hansa Century, Soon Fu, Red Sea Spirit, African Pal, Free Festiny, Orient Stride, Francsico Gilot and Baltic Mariner are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 94,453 tons comprising 32,549 tons of export cargo and 61,904 tons of import cargo was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Dancola, Calvin P. Titus, Hanjin Qingdao and Tiger Creek with containers and Pearl with rock phosphate.
