LAHORE, Jan 22: Flour crisis in the provincial metropolis is over, and 450,000 bags await lifting in mills.
This was stated during a meeting of the food department officials and special magistrates presided over by District Coordination Officer Mian Ijaz.
He was informed that the flour demand had dropped and distributors were not lifting it from flour mills pending the disposal of stocks available with them.
The DCO said wheat supply to flour mills had been increased from 11,000 metric ton to 21,000 metric ton for controlling the crisis.
DO (Livestock) Dr Nawaz informed the DCO seven butchers had been arrested for selling water-fed and unhygienic meat and four for weighing less chicken and were jailed. — Reporter
