Pakistan to attend US textile fair

ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will assist textile exporters to participate in the US ‘Material World’ trade show.

An official announcement issued here on Tuesday said the show to be held in Miami, Florida, on April 8, is the largest textile trade fair held in the United States. The TDAP is organising the national pavilion in collaboration with commercial section of the Consulate General of Pakistan.

The Material World showcases textiles, fabrics, yarn, accessories, garments and home furnishings. It is known in the US as an alternative to Heimtextil and Texworld in Europe.

According to the announcement, the TDAP has invited applications from textiles exporters for participation in the trade show.

Sixteen companies from Pakistan had showcased their products in the last edition of the show held in May last year, where Pakistan was given the status of the ‘featured’ country.

The US is the largest market of textile products in the world and is the largest buyer of Pakistani textiles.
