HYDERABAD, April 7: Hyderabad District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has taken a notice of the auction of the old Bakra Mandi plot reserved for the construction of a girls college.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he has assured the people of the city that he will approach the Sindh government against the auction of the plot and added that the district government supported the demand of the people to construct a college on the plot.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Parents-Teachers Action Committee, Government Khadeja Girls High School, Mukhi House, Hafiz Matloob Ahmed Chishti, has demanded of the EDO, education, Hyderabad, that in view of the earlier decision, orders for the upgradation of the school to intermediate college be issued without further delay.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Mr Chishti said that the EDO, education, Mirza Eijaz Ali Baig, and DEO, Apa Rehmat Kazi, had officially announced that in the current year the school will be upgraded and classes will be held there for higher secondary certificate part-I and II.

He asked the educational officer to communicate the decision to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education to enable the affiliation of the high secondary girls school with the board.
