LAHORE, Jan 19: A ‘faith healer’ was found slain in his rented room in North Cantonment on Saturday morning.

Police said Khalid Mahmood Hashmi (55), a resident of Hafizabad, had been living in a rented room alone near the Rangers Headquarters for the last three years.

Mahboob Alam, the owner of the house, told police that he found the door of Khalid’s room open on Saturday morning. As he stepped in, he found Khalid dead with his throat slit.

He said Khalid had been a security guard and volunteer in the past, but nowadays he had confined himself to his room, remaining busy in faith healing. Some locals were his visitors.

A Hashmi’s relative told police that he had no enmity.
