KARACHI, Jan 18: The provincial home department on Friday declared emergency at all government hospital for Saturday and Sunday on account of Ashura.

A handout issued in this regard said that all doctors and paramedical staff must be present and alert during these days to meet any emergency.

The Home department has also established a control room for monitoring of law and order throughout the province.

Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has, meanwhile, directed the law-enforcement agencies and other related departments to ensure fool-proof arrangements for the safety and security of citizens in the province.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Governor’s House, he ordered stringent security at sensitive places, like Imambargahs, venues of religious congregation, etc.—APP
