PESHAWAR, Jan 17: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday issued notices to eight employees working with two deposed judges, Chief Justice Tariq Pervez Khan and Justice Shahjehan Khan, asking them to report to the high court within three days.

It is learnt that the PHC Court Officer, Mubarik Shah, has issued notices to the said employees asking them to report to the high court within three days failing which disciplinary action would be taken against them.

Justice Tariq Pervez, Justice Shahjehan Khan, Justice Ijaz Afzal and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan did not take oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order after the imposition of emergency on Nov 3.

Meanwhile, the PHC registrar, Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, alleged on Thursday that the deposed Chief Justice Tariq Pervez Khan were keeping three vehicles and four employees beyond his entitlement, whereas Justice Shahjehan Khan were keeping two vehicles and four employees at his residence.

In a press release issued in connection with a news item appeared in a section of press few days ago, the registrar stated that Justice Tariq was in possession of four vehicles of the court on Nov 3, out of which he returned only one official vehicle PHC-1, and retained three official vehicles against his entitlement, bearing registration number A-5665, A-4321 and A-4608.

He alleged that the former chief justice had also retained three drivers namely Tariq Shah, Abdul Majeed and Yousaf Shah, and one naib qasid Samin Maseh. He said they serving at the residence of the deposed chief justice and he refused to send them back to the high court.

The registrar stated that Justice Shahjehan Khan also retained two official cars bearing registration number A-5666 and A-4111 along with two drivers namely Abdul Malik and Muhammad Afzal, as well as one helper Musafar Khan and one gardener named Nadar Khan working as cook at his residence, against his entitlement.
