HYDERABAD, Jan 16: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaaz Organising Committee has said that the 104th birth anniversary of nationalist leader G. M. Syed would be observed in a simple way and no public meeting or birthday gathering would be held on Thursday (Jan 17th), his birth date.

According to the divisional president of the Jeay Sindh Students Federation, Soorhiya Sindhi, the caravan of the followers of Mr Syed and activists of the Jeay Sindh will arrive at Sann from all over Sindh on Jan 17.

He said the main caravan will proceed from Hyderabad for Sann at 12 noon the same day which would be led by the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaaz Organising Committee Chairman Shafi Karnani, Abdul Wahid Ariser, Ali Hassan Chandio, Rooplo Choliani, Soorhiya Sindhi and others.

A caravan from Upper Sindh, led by Sirai Qurban Khuhawar, Shabbir Jamali and Riaz Chandio, will also arrive at the tomb of Mr Syed the same day.

The activists of Jeay Sindh will lay a floral wreath at the Mazaar of Mr Syed and offer Fateha.

He said due to the death of Mr Syed’s daughter Bibi Zareen Taj, the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and Ashura, Mr Syed’s birthday will be observed with simplicity and no gathering or public meeting will be held on that day.—PPI
