Fawad, Sami stand out

KARACHI, Jan 12: Pakistan player Fawad Alam struck a brilliant century to help Al-Noor Gymkhana (ANG) record their fourth successive win against Mohammad Zameer Khan Memorial Cricket Club in the KCCA Senior Inter-club Cricket Championship at the UBL Sports Complex ground on Friday.

Left-handed Fawad cracked 11 boundaries and a six in his 103-ball 104 and Saad Umar scored 73 to help Al-Noor Gymkhana reach 245 in 44.4 overs.

Mohammad Zameer Khan CC, in reply, were restricted to 233-9 in their 50 overs. Rameez Aziz made 86 with six fours while Pir Zulfiqar Khan got 71.

Meanwhile, Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Sami produced a superb all-round show to guide Mohammad Hussain CC to a six-wicket win over Dawood Sports at the TMC Ground. Sami snapped three wickets for 42 besides cracking 61.

In another match of the tournament, Korangi Friends CC defeated Late Ismail Jaffer CC by six wickets at Landhi Gymkhana ground.

Mansoor Ali Khan hit seven fours in his 71 and Sajid Qureshi got 54 with five boundaries for the winners.
