ISLAMABAD, Jan 9: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at construction of an international-standard stadium in the federal capital.

The signing ceremony was held here at the CDA Headquarters. Chairman, Kamran Lashari, Member Planning, Brig Nusratullah from CDA and Shafqat Naghmi from the PCB signed the MoU.

Under the MoU, the CDA would award 40-acre land on a 33-year lease to the PCB in Zone-III near New Parade ground, the CDA officials said, adding the basic purpose of the MoU is to construct a high-standard stadium in Islamabad.

Giving the details of the MoU, they said under the agreement the CDA would hand over the land to the PCB within a month while the board, they added, would prepare the design and develop the stadium in a year time. —Agencies
