Two killed as banditsattack coach

SHIKARPUR, Jan 8: Two passengers died and four others were injured when a group of 10 highway men opened fire at a Karachi-bound coach near Shaheed Sikandar police picket on Shikarpur-Kandhkot road on Monday.

The coach was coming from Peshawar.

According to police, coach driver Nawal Khan, 34, and a passenger Badshah Khan, 60, residents of Waziristan, were killed on the spot while four passengers, Ahsanullah 20, of Malakand, Altaf Khan 27, of Peshawar, Jamil 30, of Waziristan, Khanzada 30, of Waziristan received bullet injuries.

The bandits opened fire when the driver refused to stop the coach. The injured were removed to Civil Hospital Shikarpur.

The transporters blocked the road in protest against the incident, demanding early arrest of the culprits.

On the assurance of police, the road was re-opened for vehicular traffic. Naparkot police have registered the case.
