KARACHI, Jan 6: The Met Office has forecast cloudy weather with chances of rain/thunderstorm at some places in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana regions on Monday.

Town administrations in the metropolis have accordingly taken measures to cope with the situation.

The Gadap Town has set up complaint centres at various places. Arrangements are being made by town officials to ensure availability of blankets, pillows and essential commodities as part of the rain emergency plan.

Residents of the town have been advised to dial 0333-3059110 (Shafaat Ahmed Khan) or 0302-2908465 (Nasrullah Memon) for help in case of any emergency. Rain emergency has also been declared in Jamshed Town where officials have completed all arrangements to cope with such a situation.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has forecast rain/thunderstorm in Makran, Sibi and Nasirabad and rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills of Zhob, Kalat and Quetta.

The minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 12°C and 14°C on Monday.

The highest temperature of 26.5°C on Sunday was recorded at Karachi airport and the lowest of -4°C at Zhob.—PPI
