Timergara press club elections

TIMERGARA, Dec 29: Elections for the local press club were held here on Saturday.

Muhabat Shah, Haleem Asad, Ziaur Rahim, Mohammad Ishaq and Bahramand Sayed were elected as chairman, vice-chairman, general secretary, finance secretary and office secretary, respectively for 2008-9.

Hanifullah, Haroon Rashid, Ismail Anjum, Sahib Zada and Ali Shah were elected members of the executive council of the new cabinet.

Journalists on the occasion condemned the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and termed it a cowardly act.

They also criticised the curbs on media and urged the government to free it.

They regretted that people of the country were forced to depend on the foreign electronic media.
