ANP calls for strike today

PESHAWAR, Dec 29: The NWFP chapter of the Awami National Party has directed its all district organisations to observe a peaceful strike on Sunday against the assassination of Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

The party’s provincial president Afrasyab Khattak said that party leaders and workers would offer ghaibana namaz-i-janaza at the Chowk Yadgar in Peshawar at 10am on Sunday.

A press release said that workers would also offer funeral prayer in other district headquarters of the province and would stage demonstrations.
