MUZAFFARGARH, Dec 29: Protesters, including PPP workers on Friday night damaged PML-Q central office in Kot Addu while the officials of the former ruling party had to run for their lives.

Reports said hundreds of the enraged protesters broke window glasses, doors, furniture and other equipment of the PML-Q office despite deployment of a heavy police contingent there.

There was a complete shutter down in the district on Saturday and the roads gave a deserted look because of mourning over Benazir Bhutto’s murder. Offices and schools also remained closed while a black flag was hoisted at the district bar.

QURAN KHWANI: About 50 congregations will be held at as many places in the district on Sunday to recite the Holy Quran for the late Benazir Bhutto’s soul.

The biggest gathering will be held at the residence of PPP candidate for PP-257 Jam Mazhar Dewala. Quran Khawani will be held from 9am to 11am.

Other such gatherings will be held at the houses of Malik Mazhar Pahoor, Rana Mahboob Akhtar, Irshad Sial, Mohsin Qureshi, Zubaidul Islam Sherwani and Malik Rabbani Khar.

On Saturday, people went to the PPP leaders and candidates and offered Fateha.

Ms Bhutto’s funeral prayers were also held at different mosques in Basira, Chowk Karam Dad Qureshi, Qasba Gujrat, Sinawan, Gurmani, Kot Addu and Daira Din Panah.
