SIALKOT, Dec 25: PML-Q president Shujaat Husain has said that Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto are the `two sides of a rusty coin’ who want to plunder the national exchequer again by deceiving the people.

He was addressing a public meeting at the ground of Government Islamia College, Sambrial (in his constituency NA-112) here on Tuesday.

Earlier, Shujaat Husain and Pervaiz Elahi were accorded a rousing welcome upon their arrival at Sambrial.

They enjoyed a complete official protocol. Sambrial was jolted with the thunder of fireworks.

The people had to face a great deal of inconvenience as the traffic police blocked the main Sialkot-Sambrial Road for about half an hour to give a “safe passage” to the convoy, which was brought to the public meeting venue from the newly established Sialkot airport.

Most of the local factories’ workers and employees of different government departments were brought at the venue while the meeting began after three-hour delay.

Speaking at the public meeting, Shujaat Husain said Nawaz Sharif had sold the PML-N to PPP.

He said PML-N’s all the `lions’ had become `lions of a circus’ and the people would again shunt them out of the country after the general election.

He claimed that the PML-Q was the most popular political party in the country and it would sweep election.

He ruled out any possibility of rigging and said that the election would be a referendum by the people in favour of his party against `fugitive’ leaders (Nawaz Sharif and Benazir).

He said the PML-Q would never allow such politicians to derail the democratic system.

Shujaat Husain pledged to provide electricity and Sui gas to all the villages falling in his constituency NA-112.

PML-Q Punjab president Pervaiz Elahi said the PML-N had become a subsidiary of the PPP which caused the separation of the eastern wing of Pakistan.

“Those talking about rigging are actually afraid of the public decision,” he said.

Pervaiz Elahi appealed to the people to cast vote to his party for the continuity of the development process it had initiated.

He claimed that PML-Q would win polls on the basis of its amazing five-year performance.

He said more than 37,000km roads were constructed and rehabilitated in Punjab during his term. The development budget of the province was increased to Rs150 billion as compared to only Rs20 billion in 2002.

He strongly defended `Parha Likha Punjab programme’ and expressed his satisfaction over its execution.

National assembly speaker Chaudhry Ameer Husain and all PML-Q ticket holders from Sialkot and Gujrat districts were also present on the occasion.
