ISLAMABAD, Dec 23: A property dealer was shot dead allegedly by his business partners while an Iraqi national was killed in a hit-and-run accident, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, Zaheerul Hasan Shah was invited by his colleagues to their cottage near Dhoke Malyara market in Tarnol to finalise a deal.

The accused took Mr Shah to an adjoining deserted area on the pretext of inspecting a piece of land, and shot him using 9mm and 30-bore pistols.

The victim was struck 11 times and died on the spot. The killers bundled Mr Shah’s body into the trunk of his car and drove the vehicle to Sector I-14 where they abandoned it by the roadside.

Later, getting worried about Mr Shah’s disappearance, his family started contacting their acquaintances. A friend of the victim’s brother told the family that he had seen him near Tarnol.

The police were contacted, who carried out a search and located the victim’s vehicle and found his body, which was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, an Iraqi national identified as Mr Akhtar, 30, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Kuri Road, police said.

The driver of the vehicle sped away after hitting the man, who suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead by doctors in a nearby hospital where he was shifted by passers-by.

Staff reporter from Pindi adds: A man was shot dead by some killer(s) in Sadiqabad, police said.
