KARACHI: Boiler blast case

KARACHI, Dec 19: Additional District and Sessions Judge-II (Central) Nelofer Shahnawaz on Wednesday recorded statements of three prosecution witnesses in a case pertaining to a boiler explosion at a towel factory in New Karachi.

Nine people were killed and another 25 injured in the explosion that had occurred on July 24.

The three prosecution witnesses, Babal Hussain, Ms Rabia Baig and Alauddeen Baig, lived in the neighbourhood of the factory and had sustained injuries in the blast. They told the court that the factory owner, Akhtar Baloch, had suitably compensated them.
