KARACHI, Dec 15: Either of the two stable mates — Vice Admiral or Stormy Kiss — should reign supreme in the feature event of the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The present form suggest that three-year-old bay Vice Admiral should make amends by outpacing opponents in the five furlongs last race of the programme.

His winning streak – three-in-a-row – was interrupted by mare Voo Doo Doll in the first meeting of this month.

On the other hand, his stable mate filly Stormy Kiss has not come up with any worthwhile performance but can upset all calculations.

In this scenario, the horse backed by the connection should win hands down.

The winner is likely to be chased by filly The Princess Arab and colt Moon Raker.

Three-year-old bay filly Taiz Per looks certain to pick up the spoils in the supporting event should she overcome two successive poor runs.

Those who come in the reckoning for securing a place are colt Khyber and mare Sonu Love Mani.

If allowed to run on merit, three-year-old bay filly NYX, should dominate the fifth race where 12 aspirants are to vie for the honours barring last minute withdrawls.

She has shown consistent form by finishing on the board in the recent past but a win has eluded her.

Mushki and Count The Money should follow her footsteps for the places.

Also in the run are colts Mr Mention Not and Shiracco who have come down in the handicap and can bring an element of surprise any time.

Nine-year-old Al Zarrar, who finally claimed a long overdue victory under rider Essa last weekend, is on course to make it two on trot in the opener.

Three-year-old bay filly Arabian Butterfly is our fancy in the next.

Similarly, John Player and Jaguar should shrug off the opponents challenge by picking up the next two races.

A card of seven races, all to be gone through five furlongs, has been chalked out for the day. The first race begins at 1.00pm.

Meanwhile, there’s no mention of riders names in the

KRC guide again which, according to punters, put them in a difficult condition to bet the right horse.

They have demanded off the KRC Racing Committee not to do away with the old practice of mentioning riders’ names in the KRC guide.
