ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: The Kohsar police have arrested a security officer at the Saudi embassy on a charge of swindling people by promising them visas and recovered the embassy’s documents from him.

Police said here on Saturday that the security officer, a retired major of Pakistan army, was arrested on complaint of the embassy’s official.

The fraud came to light when a number of people lodged complaints with the embassy that some people had demanded money from them for arranging visas.

On the complaints, the embassy’s officials started investigations to find the accused and came to know that a security officer was involved in the illegal practice, the police said.

The chief security officer at the Saudi embassy lodged a complaint against the retired major and police arrested him after registering a case.
