Mumtaz criticises past rulers

Published December 14, 2007

LARKANA, Dec 13: Chairman Sindh National Front (SNF) Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has asked the people to reject those who during their eight years of rule gifted masses with skyrocketing prices of common commodities, corruption, lawlessness, unemployment and other ills.

Talking to different delegations in Mirpur Bhutto on Thursday, he said the country during its chequered history never witnessed flour being sold at Rs 30 per kilogram.

The poor had no choice but to face starvation, he said and added that it was the right time for the people to throw away such rulers and their cronies contesting the elections. When people were looking for flour, the PPP candidates were out with huge banners and pumping millions of rupees on its publicity drive, he said. This amount could have been spent on purchasing flour and distributing it at lower rates amongst the poor.
