KARACHI: BCom exams begin on 14th

KARACHI, Dec 9: The University of Karachi has announced commencement of BCom examinations 2007 (regular candidates) on Dec 14.

The announcement, made on Sunday, said that about 58,000 candidates would appear in the examinations.

For male candidates, exam centres are being set up at 36 teaching departments of the university and for the female candidates, arrangements would be made at 13 colleges in the metropolis.

The examinations will conclude on Jan 16, 2008.

The KU vice-chancellor has constituted vigilance teams to check use of unfair means in the examinations.

Meanwhile, a KU spokesman said on Sunday that 43 candidates were caught cheating in the BA and BSc examinations at the university.

He said action would be taken against them in accordance with university’s rules.

A separate announcement said that admissions to the MBA and MSc evening classes at the university would start on Dec 10.—APP
