KHAIRPUR, Dec 7: PPP candidates for Khairpur’s national and provincial assembly seats have accused the EDO education and EDO health Khairpur, RPO Sukkur and other district administration officials of campaigning for PML (F) candidates.

The candidates are: Nawab Khan Wassan (NA-215), Sajid Ali Bhambhan (NA-216), Pir Fazal Shah Jilani (NA-217), Syed Bachal Shah Jilani (PS-3), Naeem Ahmed Kharal (PS-34) and former district nazim Nafisa Shah.

At a press conference here on Friday, they alleged that the EDOs of education and health were distributing offer letters for jobs and pressurising teachers and lower staff to carry out election campaign against PPP candidates. They demanded cancellation of these offer letters and an inquiry into the matter.

They said that EDO health was providing government vehicles to PML (F) candidates to carry out election campaign, while RPO Sukkur transferred and posted SHOs from Babarloi, A-section, B-section, Kotdiji, Ranipur and Thari Mirwah police stations after announcement of election schedule.

They alleged that the RPO has appointed DSP Lakhair in Khairpur, who had been active in anti-PPP activities, including implication of PPP supporters in fictitious cases, while SHO Ranipur was appointed as DSP Pir Jo Goth.

They alleged that NAB had conducted a number of inquiries against EDO education while some departmental inquiries were also pending against him. They added that he was also involved in teachers’ loan scandal.

They demanded that elections at all sensitive polling stations in the district, particularly in Kingri and Nara talukas, be held under army supervision. They said that in the previous elections ballot papers exceeding the number of voters were sent in that area.

The PPP leaders demanded immediate removal of EDO education and EDO health and suspension of RPO Sukkur’s powers.
