KHAR, Dec 4: Six security personnel were kidnapped and their checkpost in Loi Sam area was blown up by armed men on Monday night.

Security forces also defused two unexploded missiles in Khar.

Officials confirmed the incident and said that no group had claimed responsibility.

Political Agent Shafeerullah Khan said efforts were being made to secure the release of the personnel with the help of tribal elders. Official sources said the militants had fired four missiles at the Bajaur Scouts fort in Khar, the agency headquarters, and the Katkot Scouts fort.

One of the missiles exploded near the Government High School in Khar and the other in Katkot village. The other two missiles did not explode.
