PESHAWAR, Dec 3: An FIR has been registered against former provincial minister and Awami National Party (ANP) candidate for the provincial assembly seat PF-3 (Peshawar) Haji Ahmad Bashir Bilour and three others in connection with a clash in which a woman was shot dead and three other people were injured in the Shah Qabool locality on Sunday night.

According to police, the clash took place when PPP and ANP activists came face to face and started shouting slogans against each other.

Three injured PPP activists were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.

An official of the police station concerned said a man, Abdul Jabar, had nominated Bashir Bilour and three of his supporters — Noor Muhammad, Arshad and Abdul Jabar — in the FIR. No one has so far been arrested.

Police personnel were deployed in the area to avoid another clash. Iqbal Mohmand of the PPP is contesting for the same provincial assembly seat.

PPP activists had gathered outside the hospital and they shouted slogans against the ANP but the situation was said to be under control.
