KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1: Pakistan will be looking for another solid performance from their young guns when they take on Olympic champions Australia in an all-important clash of the 29th Hockey Champions Trophy on Sunday.

After suffering a bad 5-2 defeat against Germany in the opener, Pakistan bounced back with a resounding 2-0 victory over Spain in the elite 8-nation competition at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Friday. Pakistan’s new-look forward line showed a lot of potential and promise in that game and if they put together a similar show on Sunday, the formidable Australians may well be given a run for their money.

The Pakistanis can also take heart from the fact that the Aussies are already under a bit of pressure after their defeat against Asian tigers South Korea the other day.

Apart from the Australia clash, Pakistan will be facing the Netherlands South Korea, Great Britain and host Malaysia in its next four games here.
