SIALKOT, Nov 30: Two proclaimed offenders (POs) were killed in a shootout with police near Roypur village in Sadar police precincts on Friday evening.

The district police officer told reporters that five dacoits were looting passers-by after setting up a picket during rain.

On information, a Sadar police team rushed to the scene. When dacoits saw the police, they opened fire and two POs, who were later identified as Ejaz and Sarwar, were killed in the ensuing shootout which lasted for around two hours.

The police wanted the killed POs in over 30 cases.

They also seized unlicensed weapons from them. Further investigation is under way.
