Conference on media freedom today

ISLAMABAD, Nov 29: Leaders of mainstream political parties and leading figures in print and electronic media are expected to attend a two-day conference on ‘Media Freedom, Security and Laws’ which begins here today against the backdrop of the current countrywide struggle for press freedom, says a press release.

PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto, PML (N) leader Nawaz Sharif, PML (Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmed, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Pakistan Terik-i-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan, MQM coordinator Dr Farooq Sattar, ANP president Asfandyar Wali Khan, chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Asma Jehangir and Dr Hayee Baloch of the National Party will be among prominent speakers, besides APNS, CPNE, PFUJ and PBA leaders.
