Eight Khasadars kidnapped

GHALANAI, Nov 28: Eight Khasadars were kidnapped from a checkpost between Yakka Ghund and Ghalanai on Tuesday night. Officials said that about 20 masked men whisked away eight of the 14 Khasadars present at the Sharmakhano checkpost and took away a vehicle, a wireless set and mobile phones. After the incident, the political authorities declared the Sharmakhano area as a dangerous area and shifted the checkpost to Yakka Ghund.

Local militants had threatened to kidnap officials a week ago if their four associates held at Chakdarra in the Lower Dir district were not released.
