DADU, Nov 28: A large number of citizens and social workers staged a demonstration here on Wednesday to protest against the issuance of hundreds of appointment orders in education, health and other departments without observing merit.

The protestors demanded of the caretaker prime minister to take notice of the matter and stop what they called ‘illegal appointments’.

The protest was held on the call of Young Citizens Welfare Association Dadu.

They were led by Young Citizens Association President Qaim Ali Siyal, Sindh Development Society President Mujtaba Malik, SNF leader Sajid Mastoi and Lower Staff Association education president Hajan Panhwar.

Qaim Ali Siyal claimed that despite a ban, the EDO education, Dadu, was issuing appointment orders of school teachers through agents after receiving bribe.

He said the Sindh chief secretary had directed all the departments not to issue any appointment order but in the education department, some 2,000 appointment orders were issued and a number of people have got medical fitness certificates from the Civil Hospital.

He said that it was a clear violation of merit and drew attention of the chief election commissioner that during the upcoming elections the EDO education was issuing orders to support some political parties.

Mr. Malik alleged that the EDO education had issued 600 appointment orders against 273 vacant posts from grade 1 to 4, who were not getting salaries since past three months.
