Thatta PPP members’ threat

Published November 27, 2007

THATTA, Nov 26: The members of the Save Thatta PPP Action Committee have decided in principle to quit the party if the status of a number of former office-bearers of the Thatta chapter of the People’s Party Parliamentarians is not restored in a week.

The committee observed that after a series of protests by the party activists against installation of a new body in the district, almost all of the former office-bearers were sacked and their basic membership was suspended. However, party chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto resorted their membership.

The committee met at the residence of Syed Iqbal Shah, former secretary of PPP Thatta district late on Sunday and the meeting was attended by Abdul Sattar Lohar, Malik Luqman Malkani and others.
