KARACHI: Lawyers’ call

KARACHI, Nov 25: The legal fraternity has called upon political parties to boycott the upcoming general elections and join hands with it in the struggle for the independence of judiciary, restoration of democracy, supremacy of constitution, and rule of law.

“There is no concept of free, fair and transparent elections under the emergency rule and in the presence of General Musharraf,” general body meeting of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) held on Saturday was told.

Akthar Hussain, ex-president of Sindh High Court Bar, also spoke.
