MANSEHRA, Nov 24: A 12-year-old boy, who had survived the October 2005 earthquake though he was buried under the rubble with his brothers, was run over by a speeding vehicle on Saturday.

Shahid Naseem of Sungar in Balakot was going to Abbottabad with his parents to participate in the wedding ceremony of a relative when he was knocked down by a vehicle near Jabba.

He was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Mansehra where he was pronounced dead.

The boy’s father, Naseemur Rehman, said his two sons had died in the 2005 earthquake. Shahid had been rescued after remaining under the debris of his house for over 15 hours.
