THATTA, Nov 23: The president of the Thatta chapter of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Arbab Wazir Ahmed Memon, has demanded an inquiry into police action in Gul Mohammad Soomro village, which, according to him, has created harassment among the villagers.

Talking to this correspondent, the PPP leader said that their opponents were trying to force the PPP workers to change loyalty by victimising them. He demanded withdrawal of what he termed concocted cases against party activists Ghani Soomro, Ismail Soomro, Mohammad Rahim, Hashim and Noor Ahmed.

The PPP leader condemned curbs on media and demanded that the rulers should immediately lift ban on electronic media.

Sindh caretaker Minister for Health Fauzia Lari paid a surprise visit to Makli Civil Hospital here on Friday. She visited emergency ward, inquired about health of the patients and listened to their complaints. She directed the medical superintendent to maintain hygienic conditions in different wards of the hospitals.
