QUETTA, Nov 22: Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that the army is fully equipped and motivated to defeat all dimensions of conventional and unconventional threats facing the country.

Addressing officers of the Command and Staff College in Quetta, he said the restructuring and modernising of the army through a comprehensive long-term development plan was progressing well to effectively meet all challenges.

Gen Kayani said the harmonisation of socio-political, administrative and military strategies would usher in an environment of long-term peace and stability. However, it was the will of the people and their support which played a decisive role, he said.

He urged officers to focus fully on their professional pursuits. He said the nation’s support for the army’s was of critical importance.
