SANGHAR, Nov 20: Pakistan People’s Party leaders and workers were remanded in nine-day jail custody by judicial magistrate Shahdadpur on Tuesday.

Abdul Salam Thaheem, Faisal Wassan Lal Bux Bagrani and Anwar Chandio were arrested by police under MPO.

Fifteen other workers were also arrested. An FIR was registered against 97 PPP activists by police on complaint of a PML-F worker in October.

Faisal Wassan told Dawn that on October 16, their rally was attacked at village Maroof Dahri near Shahpur Chakar in which firearms were used as a result of which eight workers were injured.

He said three of them were still in hospital. He said that they had lodged six FIRs but police took no action.
