Junior athletics squad named

LAHORE, Nov 19: The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) named a 23-member contingent for the first South Asian Junior Athletics Championship, to start in Colombo on Nov 29.

Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives and Nepal will participate.

Boys’ events include 100m, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000, 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, 4x100m relay, 4x400 relay, triple jump, high jump, long jump, shotput, javelin throw and discus throw.

Girls will be competing in 100m, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 100 hurdles, 4x100m relay, 4x400 relay, high jump, long jump, shotput, javelin throw and discus throw events.

Squad (boys):

Asad Manzoor, Mazhar Fareed, Pervez Hussain, Mohammad Tanvir Abbas, Mohammad Asif Javed, Shahid Ali, Ali Aamir Murad, Mohsin Ali, Mohammad Khalil, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Arsalan, Mohammad Wajahat Ayaz, Farhan Ahmad, Ahmad Hasan and Mohammad Sajjad.

(Girls): Tasneem Akhtar, Zahra Razzaq, Kanwal Naz, Nadia Zulfiqar, Azalfa Shafi, Aman Butt, Madiha Latif, Kiran Rana, Anam Mushtaq and Seema Bilal.
