KARACHI, Nov 17: The Additional District and Sessions Judge-II (Central), Nelofer Shahnawaz Azimi, on Saturday adjourned the hearing of a 14-year-old boy’s murder case till Nov 19 due to the lawyers’ boycott of court proceedings.

The judicial magistrate (East), Ayaz Mustafa Jokhio, will record his statement on the next hearing.

Earlier, he had recorded the confessional statement of the accused, Mohammad Younus.On Nov 13, the court had issued a notice to the Sindh health secretary and directed him to ensure the appearance of two Medico-legal Officers (MLOs) of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in court to testify in the murder case.

The court had also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the MLOs for not appearing in the case for the last six years.

On Nov 15, the MLOs, however, through an application requested the court to grant them more time as they had been transferred to Hyderabad.

According to the prosecution, Mohammad Younus, son of Mohammad Darvesh, had stabbed a 14-year-old Mohammad Ghiyas, son of Mohammad Saleem, in Liaquatabad after an exchange of hot words with him in Super Market police limits on August 20, 2001.

The accused was booked under Section-302 of the Pakistan Penal Code in the case (FIR-84/01) at Super Market police station.
