Masood Azhar shifted to his house

BAHAWALPUR, March 26: Banned Jaish-i-Muhammed Chief Maulana Masood Azhar was shifted to his residence in Kausar Colony here from Mianwali Jail on Monday night. He will remain under detention, as his residence has been declared as sub-jail.

Dawn learnt that Masood Azhar was escorted by heavy contingent of police during the process. He was shifted on the orders of Lahore High Court review board, who had accepted his plea for shifting him from Mianwali Jail.

The government will also pay Rs10,000 to his family here as sustenance allowance.

A source said heavy police force has been deployed outside his house and four police posts have been set up around the streets of his residence.
