FIFA lifts ban on Kuwait

ZURICH, Nov 10: FIFA has lifted its ban on the Kuwait football association (KFA) after the association agreed to meet several demands made by world football’s governing body.

FIFA banned Kuwait from all international matches last month citing government interference in the association’s affairs but announced a lifting of the ban on Friday on a conditional basis.

The organising body said it had made its decision following an extraordinary general assembly of the KFA on Nov 4. The assembly voted to remove the board of directors whose appointment on Oct 9 led to the FIFA ban.—Reuters
