CCB men get more time to return money

VEHARI, Nov 9: Office-bearers of the Citizen’s Community Boards (CCBs) who are facing charges of misappropriation of funds have been given a few more days to return the money to avoid arrest.

A meeting chaired by DCO Hameedullah Sheikh was told that FIRs hade been lodged against office-bearers of seven citizen community boards (CCBs) while one of them had been arrested for misappropriation of funds.A sum of Rs 931,000 had also been recovered from some defaulters, the meeting was told.

The DCO asked the EDO community development to give more time to remaining defaulters. The meeting decided to issue second installment of funds to 19 CCBs. It was informed that of 112 schemes under CCBs in the district, 38 had been completed.—APP
