PESHAWAR, Nov 9: Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has said the Pakistan Air Force has maintained a tradition of courage, enterprise and high professionalism. Its new staff should not only try to live up to these standards but also put in efforts to raise the same.

The governor, while addressing on Friday the convocation of the 119 GD (pilot) course of the College of Flight Training, Risalpur, said: “Being an ideological nation, our true strength lies in the unshakable faith in the Almighty and it is through this divine faith, combined with resolute will and self-reliance that the jawans of the force can equip themselves in the real sense of the sacred trust the nation has reposed in them.”

On the occasion, a total of 32 graduating cadets were awarded BSc degrees on behalf of the University of Peshawar.

The Asghar Hussain Trophy, a coveted award of the college, went to Aviation Cadet Naveed Shaukat for his overall performance. He also bagged the first position in aero-sciences.

Aviation Sergeant Mohammad Umair Riyaz bagged the trophy in the humanities group.

The governor, who is also the chancellor of the Peshawar University, remarked: “You must bear in mind that there is no shortcut to excellence and its pursuit can be fruitful only if you display commitment and resolve through your consistent efforts and tenacity of purpose.”

While extending felicitations to the graduating cadets, he said they stood on the threshold of a life of eminence and glory.
