RAHIM YAR KHAN, Nov 6: A woman, whose husband was arrested in the recent crackdown on political activists, says agencies have asked her husband to provide an affidavit or undertaking that he will never join any opposition party nor participate in any political activity.
Dr Kamran Khan, a Tehrik-i-Insaaf leader, was arrested after the imposition of a state of emergency and kept at the City A Division police station.
His wife, Dr Tasneem, said Dr Kamran had no connection with the Tehrik-i-Insaaf. She blamed Imran Khan for the “turmoil” that her husband and her family were facing. She said her husband was arrested due to some misunderstanding and that he had never been against the government or Gen Musharraf.
She demanded the government release her husband.
