Two Adiala jail officials transferred

RAWALPINDI, Nov 6: Two deputy superintendents of Adiala Jail were transferred on Tuesday to district jails Gujranwala and Jhelum, respectively, official sources said.

They informed that deputy superintendent Malik Ferooz had been transferred to Gujranwala while Saifullah Gondle to Jhelum. Athar Jan Dar from district jail Jhelum had been directed to assume charge of deputy superintendent Adiala jail, they said.

Earlier, the Superintendent Adiala jail Shahid Saleem Baig was transferred to Bhawalpur after a cell phone was recovered from Barrister Aitzaz Ehsan who was detained and shifted to the jail shortly after President Musharraf imposed emergency in the county on October 3, the sources said adding as Mr Baig sent the report of the recovery of the cell phone to high ups, he was immediately removed from the post and ordered to report to Bhawalpur.

He has been replaced by the superintendent of Bhawalpur jail Tariq Babar.—Staff Reporter
