PESHAWAR, Nov 5: Newly elected members of the Teaching Staff Association (TSA) of Islamia College Peshawar took the oath of office for the session 2007-08 here on Monday.

The principal of the college, Prof Nisar Muhammad Nisar, administered the oath. The recently-elected office-bearers who took oath were Prof Dr Naushad Khan (president), Dr Sirajuddin (general-secretary), Dr Tauqir Alam (press secretary) and Prof M. Hakeem Khan (treasurer).

Members of the executive body who took oath were Prof (Dr) Syed Zahir Shah, Prof (Dr) Mohammad Irshad, Prof Attaullah Khan and Prof Qazi Ubaid-ur-Rehman.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Nisar expressed the hope that the newly-elected cabinet would join hands with the administration in its efforts to enhance the academic standards.

He asked the association to activate the tutorial and sermon system in the college so that a maximum number of students and teachers could participate in it.—APP
