Security tightened in Quetta

QUETTA, Nov 4: Hundreds of police and Frontier Corps personnel were deployed in Quetta in the wake of a strike call for Monday given by political parties in protest against the imposition of emergency in the country.

Frontier Corps personnel set up about two dozen posts in different parts of the provincial capital.

“We have taken all possible measures to avert any untoward incident in the city,” a senior police officer told Dawn.

Armoured personnel carriers were also deployed at various points in and around the city.

Law-enforcement personnel were seen patrolling most of streets in the city.
