HYDERABAD, Nov 2: A young woman died under mysterious circumstances in Al-Amna Complex of Cantonment area within the jurisdiction of Makki Shah police station here on Friday.

She was identified as Saima 27, wife of Abid Soomro, a traffic policeman of Hyderabad. Witnesses and residents of the complex claimed that the woman came out of her second storey flat and jumped from the stairs. She died instantly. However, family members of deceased contested this claim.

Her husband Abid Soomro, who hails from Shikarpur district said that she, along with her mother, was going to hospital as she was complaining of severe pain in her abdomen. He said that his mother-in-law who was carrying his baby said that she couldn’t hold to the stairs and fell from the balcony of stairs on ground.

The residents said that entire family was asleep when she committed suicide and the chowkidar of the flats, Ayub had knocked the door of Abid’s flat to inform the family about his wife, who was lying on ground. The woman had given birth to a baby girl a fortnight back through caesarean operation. Her stitches were not even opened. The family didn’t allow photo journalists to take her snaps. The deceased was taken to Shikarpur district for burial.

Incidentally Nov 2 was the first wedding anniversary of the couple. It was second marriage of her husband. Another report said that she was insisting to appear in an examination and her husband was objecting to it because of her condition.
